I dare you to find a better turkey burger than this one. I know that is a bold statement to make, but this burger would make even the most die hard beef fan jump ship. Turkey gets a bad rep from all of those poor, botched, Thanksgiving birds you had to smother in gravy as a child. But turkey doesn't have to be that way. It can be just as flavorful and juicy as that fatty patty you paid double the price for. You don't believe me? Try this burger.
Ingredients:
Greek Turkey Burger:
2.5 lb ground turkey
4 oz feta
1/2 cup fresh basil - chopped
6 oz sliced black olives
2 tsp minced garlic
1 tbsp dried oregano
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
2 tbsp dijion mustard
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 sweet onion chopped
2 + 1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp butter
8 gluten free buns (we prefer gluten free sliced bread, or no bun at all)
Sliced tomatoes (optional)
Lettuce (optional)
Mayo (optional)
Mustard (optional)
Tomato & Cucumber Salad:
4 tomatoes, roughly quartered
2 cucumber, sliced
1 medium sweet onion, sliced
4 oz feta crumbles
1/2 Italian dressing
Recipe:
Add 1 Tbsp olive oil and 1 Tbsp butter to a warm skillet. Sauté 1 medium dice sweet onion over medium heat until translucent, about 5 minutes. Let cool.
Combine turkey, basil, chopped basil, sliced black olives, minced garlic, oregano, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and sautéed onions.
I like to cook the first side uncovered then cover the skillet with a lid after they have been flipped.
If you are grilling these, it is important to brush the grill with oil first to prevent the burgers from sticking.

While burgers are cooking, combine quartered tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, sliced onions, crumbled feta, and Italian dressing.
Enjoy!
